The most important piece of equipment in the gym is your body! So you need to take care of it. Warmup, cool down, and post workout stretching are all important but more people that are active should be doing yoga regularly.

If you’re focusing on building strength then you need to also include flexibility, with yoga, you develop both. Being strong, yet inflexible, creates a higher risk of injury. This is why we offer yoga to all of our members. It is important, no matter what your goals are, that you maintain your flexibility and keep your body moving properly

Julie is a SWIHA graduate and a registered teacher with Yoga Alliance. She practices hatha, vinyasa and restorative yoga, emphasizing on the use of breath and moving meditation.
